Pensioners highlight demands

KATHUA, Feb 16: A meeting of Pensioners Welfare Association, district Kathua, was held under the chairmanship of S  Tara Singh,  the chief advisor of the district unit, for  highlighting burning issues of the pensioners  and employees.
In the meeting,  Amar Nath Dogra demanded enhancement of Medical Allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 3000 per month in favour of employees and pensioners as senior citizens were  facing  great financial hardships to meet out the expenditure on day to day medicines.  He also demanded release of 7 percent DA, due from January 2017 and 20 percent interim relief in favour of Govt employees and  pensioners till  the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission.
Khushi Ram Sharma   demanded the release of pensions  before the  festival of Maha Shivaratri falling on 24/02/2017.
Others who spoke on the occasion,  included S  Amrik Singh,  Dilsher Singh,  Dewan Chand,  Sohan LaI, Dalip Singh,  Dev Raj Verma, Shambu Nath Verma,  Saran Singh, M S Jamwal and   Mohd Iqbal.
