Pensioners delegation calls on DC, CHO Ganderbal

SRINAGAR, Aug 6: A delegation of Pensioners and Senior Citizens Forum led by veteran Trade Unionist Mir Ghulam Rasool called on DC Ganderbal and discussed various issues of public importance with him.
The delegation demanded that immediate steps be taken to start work on new Ganderbal Hydel Project which is hanging in balance for last three decades. Stressing on construction of power projects Mir said that it will not only boost the generation of electricity in the State but also help in eradication of unemployment to a great extent.
The delegation also stressed on shifting of campus of Central University from Srinagar to Ganderbal where the new campus of the University is under construction.
Later the delegation met with Chief Horticulture Officer (CHO) Ganderbal and discussed the problems of fruit growers with him. It demanded that the timely pesticides, fertilizers and other medicines be supplied to fruit growers. The delegation also expressed concern over the transfer of class fourth and class three employees to far flung areas.
