PEEU protest enters 2nd day

KATHUA, Feb 3: The Provincial Electric Employees Union (PEEU) continued its protest in front of Sub Division M&RE Hiranagar for the second day today against the attachment of a meter reader for increasing load in the area.
The demonstration was led by Hardarshan Singh a senior leader of the Union. The protesters while criticizing the attachment of the official in Division Office by the Executive Engineer, Electrical Division Kathua termed it unjustified and illogical.
They reiterated that the meter reader alone is not responsible for increasing load in the area and the officers should also be held responsible for the same.
The protesters’ warned in case the attachment order of the official was not revoked immediately they will intensify the agitation.
Today provincial president of the Union, PC Sharma also joined the protest and warned to take the agitation to logical conclusion. He said the Union will not allow suppression of the low paid employees.
The other Union leaders who addressed the protest included K P Singh and Joginder Kumar.
