JAMMU, Oct 19: A pedestrian was killed today in a road mishap at Dhok area of Akhnoor Tehsil while a woman succumbed to her burn injuries here at Government Medical and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu.
According to a police spokesperson, a man identified as Om Prakash (55) son of Chhaju Ram, a resident of Dhok Khalsa was seriously injured when a mini-bus hit him this evening at Dhok area falling under the jurisdiction of police post Jourian.
The injured man was immediately shifted to Government Hospital Akhnoor. However, in view of his serious condition he was immediately referred to GMCH, where doctors declared him as brought dead.
The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for conducting post mortem tomorrow. The concerned police has registered a case in this connection and investigations are underway.
Meanwhile, a woman namely Gulshan Bano (24) wife of Asif, a resident of Doda, who had suffered serious burn injuries in a LPG cylinder blast at her residence on October 6 and was undergoing treatment here at GMCH, succumbed to her injuries at about 1.15 am today.
After conducting post mortem the body of the deceased was handed over to her legal heirs for last rites. The concerned police has already taken cognizance of the matter.
