RAMBAN, July 8: A pedestrian was killed after he was hit by a Tata Mobile vehicle near Chanjloo link road in Tehsil Banihal.
As per police sources, a pedestrian identified as Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din (55), son of Haji Saif Din Wani of Chanjloo received serious injuries after he was hit by a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration number JK19-3490 near Chanjloo link road.
The profusely bleeding victim was rushed to Sub District Hospital Banihal, where he failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to his injuries.
The body of the deceased has been handed over to family members for last rites after completing legal formalities.
A case under FIR Number 94/17 under Section 279 and 304 RPC has been registered at Banihal police station and driver of the vehicle identified as Nasir Ahmed Mir, son of Ahadullah Mir of Bankoot Tehsil Banihal has been arrested.
