Pedestrian killed, 9 injured in road accidents

KATHUA, Aug 8: One pedestrian died while six passengers were injured after a matador bearing registration number JKO21 -2411 which was on way from Rattanpur Sarha to Koota in Hiranagar tehsil of Kathua district rolled down today.
According to reports the matador was in high speed and the driver was busy on mobile phone. While reaching village Kanaha he lost control on steering due to which the matador rolled down on the road resulting into on spot death of a pedestrian who was crushed beneath the vehicle.
The deceased was identified as Mushroof Ali, 40, son of Bashir Ahmed. Six passengers out of 10 travelling in the matador were also injured. They were shifted to District Hospital Samba for treatment where from one seriously injured lady was referred to GMC Jammu.
The driver of the matador fled after the accident and the vehicle was seized by Hiranagar Police which has registered a case under Section 304 RPC.
Meanwhile three persons were injured in two separate accidents in Samba district today. According to reports one person was injured after his motor cycle was hit by a matador at village Barian near Beas Ghar is Samba district. The injured was taken to Accident Hospital Vijaypur wherefrom doctors referred him to GMC Jammu as his condition was critical.
Two persons were injured after a car hit a motorcycle at Dewak Bridge in Vijaypur area. The duo was shifted to Accident Hospital Vijaypur where from one seriously injured person was referred to GMC Jammu. The Vijaypur Police has registered cases under relevant section of the law in both the cases.
