JAMMU, May 29: Police arrested a pedestrian along with illicit liquor pouches from Badyal Brahmana area, falling under the jurisdiction of RS Pura police station.
As per police sources, acting over a tip-off, a team from RS Pura police station laid a naka at Badyal Brahmana and intercepted a pedestrian on suspicious grounds.
During checking, police recovered 42 pouches of illicit liquor from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Bishan Dass, son of Ram Chand, a resident of Malika Chack, Satwari.
A case under FIR Number 84/16 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at RS Pura police station and investigation has been started.
