PDP working to bring Kashmiris more closer to India: Khan

JAMMU, Mar 28: Maintaining that return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits to Valley is the endeavor of Chief Minister, Mehbooba Muti Government , Minister of Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Law, Abdul Haq Khan today said that unfortunately a misinformation is being created among the majority community of Valley and Pandits by certain forces having vested interests.
Addressing Navreh function organized by Kashmiri Pandit Sabha Ambphalla here this afternoon, Haq Khan said it is the endeavor of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti that Pandits should return to Kashmir so that composite culture of Valley is restored. Referring to Navreh he said though the festival dawns for a new spring in Kashmir but really speaking it is incomplete without you.
Khan said that unfortunately propaganda was created about Mehbooba Mufti too and it was said that if Mehbooba will become Chief Minister she would join hands with Pakistan. Even she was named by a media channel as Pak CM, he added.
Recalling the contributions of Mufti Mohammed Sayeed, he termed him a nationalist and said PDP did every thing to bring Kashmir closer to India.
With out naming opposition parties he said the elements who were behind stone pelting and unrest in Valley during last year did not only want Pakistan but there were certain elements in it who had lost chair also. “ So there were many factors which contributed to the last year’s unrest in Kashmir”, he added.
Lauding the role of KP Sabha Ambphalla, he said by organizing social functions like Navreh festival they have kept the culture alive which is our identity and when culture ends every thing will end automatically. Maintaining that Pandits are intellectuals he appealed the community to use their intelligentsia in a right way. “You have a capacity to guide the Government as well”, he added.
Maintaining that we live in a democratic set up Khan asked the Pandits that they have to make themselves important by participating in the system in a big way so that you can play a role in the decision making and be more responsive than any one else. “You have to compel others so that they can understand your importance”, he added.
Addressing the function Prof Ashok Aima Vice Chancellor Central University highlighted the significance of Navreh festival in the terminology of Kashmiri Shaivism. He said Navreh reflects the cosmic energy of Lord Shiva. “It gives us message to begin new spring with new energy”, he added.
“The Navreh epitomizes new dawn propelling dynamic energy as being Kashmiri Pandits we believe in Lord Shiva’s cosmic energy”, he added.
Prof Aima said human beings have to contribute in growth of culture and all communities have to work together for a new era and create trust among us.
Stressing on initiation of a serious dialogue with the Kashmiri Pandits, president K P Sabha K K Khosa said that last time during the all party delegation visit the community members were not given chance to meet them. While referring to all party resolution passed by State Legislature during this year’s budget Session ,he said however there was no follow up to it.
He stressed on passage of Shrines and Temples Bill to restore confidence among the community besides filling up of remaining posts under PM package in a one go
Khosa also demanded restoration of quarters at Jagti with all facilities to inmates of all camps and accommodations to migrant employees in Valley. He also cautioned the Government against the recent statement of successor of dreaded militant Burhan Wani. He demanded that for KPs three seats be kept reserved in Assembly besides one in Rajya Sabha while lauding the BJP initiative to give another LC seat to the community.
The vote of thanks was proposed by senior vice president of the Sabha Ashok Braroo while S L Bhagati general secretary of Sabha read the annual report.
Prof P N Trisal gave an account o KPs contribution to Indian culture apart from highlighting the Navreh heritage. Shanti Lal Sidh and his team presented musical programme while stage was managed by Dr Sujata Sathoo.
