KISHTWAR, May 14: Member Legislative Council (MLC), Firdous Tak has said that gun and war is no solution to any issue and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) stands for peace through dialogue and reconciliation.
“There is no alternate to dialogue and talks are to be held with all the stake holders to ensure restoration of peace in Jammu and Kashmir”, Tak said while addressing party workers in remote Nagsena area of Kishtwar, near here.
He was accompanied by district president, Advocate Sheikh Nasir Hussain, Haji Mohammad Iqbal, Abdul Kabir, Aijaz Ahmed, Gulab Chand, Sukhdev Singh, Sanjeet Kumar, Chander Shekhar and Vijay Kumar.
“We are expecting that era of peace will return to State of J&K paving way for initiation of dialogue. The conducive atmosphere in the State will compel India and Pakistan to come together ending their hostilities, which has caused bloodshed and destruction”, Tak said.
“It was also necessary that every individual in the State and especially those associated with PDP play his role in ensuring peace. The State Government headed by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is keen to address all the issues but peace is imperative for development and prosperity”, he said.
He said J&K bears the direct brunt of animosity between India and Pakistan. “There is a direct impact of that on the situation here. Every time India and Pakistan armies are engaged in hostilities the people living in the border areas of J&K face the brunt”, he said.
Referring to the current unrest in Kashmir valley, he said it is a well thought-out conspiracy of the vested interests that are ardent critics and opponents of the PDP’s revolutionary agenda of reconciliation and resolution.
Taking a dig on opposition National Conference and Congress for playing negative politics for their vested interests, the MLC said that the present Coalition Government, led by PDP, was setting new benchmarks on Governance, financial and development fronts.
“The Government has a focused strategy and plans in order to transform the State and bring it out of the chaos and confusion besides ensuring financial stability”, he said.
