PDP made J&K most corrupt State in country: NC

SRINAGAR, Oct 30: National Conference has said that Omar Abdullah had proven beyond doubt that he was an incorruptible and visionary leader who believes in empowering the common-man to ask questions to the Government.
NC additional general secretary Dr Sheikh Mustafa Kamal said that NC under the leadership of Omar Abdullah had eradicated corruption from the State by bringing in the Right to Information (RTI) Act and constituting the State Vigilance Commission (SVC) and bringing the State Accountability Commission (SAC) back from the dead after PDP ensured that all corruption watchdogs in the State were rendered dysfunctional during their tenure.
“Omar Abdullah Government added 1750 MWs of Power to the State’s portfolio and laid the edifice of 9000 MWs more without a single accusation or allegation of any sort of misdoing or corruption coming to fore. Accountability and transparency has been the hallmark of this tenure and in Omar Abdullah, J&K has found a leader who believes in politics as a means to an end, not an end in itself. Politics to our party is a means to bring about change, empower the dis-empowered and liberalize power by historic decentralization initiatives like the Panchayati Raj System and the creation of new Administrative Units across the length and breadth of the State”, Dr Kamal said.
Dr Kamal said that in the coming elections, the people of J&K especially youth have a clear cut and simple choice on one hand they have NC led by Omar Abdullah and guided by the highest standards of transparency and accountability and on the other hand they have PDP which plunged the State into record-breaking corruption, loot and plunder during their brief tenure at the helm.
“PDP made J&K the most corrupt State in the country within a span of three years as almost all its Cabinet Ministers were found involved in huge scams, bungling and misappropriation of public money”, he added.
He further stated that PDP believes in politics of subversion, insensitivity and manipulation and National Conference will expose PDP’s role of apathy and rank indifference towards the flood victims in front of the voters”, Dr. Mustafa Kamal added.
