RAJOURI, Jan 23: Following the foot-steps of party president, Mehbooba Mufti and showing their grave concern for Gujjar community, PDP leaders Qamar Choudhary (ex-MLA) and Master Tasaduq Hussain today warned of serious consequences if the Gujjars were continued to be targeted in Jammu region.
Apparently playing communal card and consolidating Gujjar vote bank in Jammu region after losing ground in Kashmir, the PDP leaders while talking to media-persons here today, supported the remarks of the party president which she made recently at Srinagar at a press conference. They said that Governor’s Administration should ensure that no such incident take place in Jammu region.
The PDP leaders said, “Gujjars are very important part of our community and they always stood up to protect our country in all the wars and it is unfortunate that some people are being forced to leave their homes.”
Qamar and Master Tasaduq further alleged that Muslims are being threatened in Jammu and some people are trying to create 1947 like environment. They said the people of Jammu have proven credentials and they will not allow communal elements to succeed in their designs. The Jammu during militancy gave space to Kashmiri Pandits and Muslims from Valley.
They further lauded the efforts of the party cadre for its commitment towards party. They said the party cadre has reposed faith in the leadership of Mehbooba Mufti. The party will emerge stronger with the changes effected recently.
