PDP deputation takes up Viloo tunnel issue with Advisors

KISHTWAR, Oct 20: A deputation of People’s Democratic Party unit Kishtwar led by its District president Sheikh Nasir Hussain today met the Advisors to Governor KA Ganaie and Vijay Kumar during their visit to Kishtwar.
The delegation included Zonal president Arshad Hussian Giri, senior leaders Joghinder Bhandari, Mohd Munwar Butt, Youth state general secretary Umar Malik and Abdul Kabir Naik.
Heading his party’s delegation comprising senior party functionaries and youth leaders Sheikh Nasir raised several issues before the Advisors. The delegation raised objections regarding the recruitment policy adopted by the AFCON and Jai Parkash Ltd for Pakal Dul Project and demanded that management of companies be directed to recruit local unemployed youth on preferential basis through a transparent and fool proof process. The delegation demanded early start of work on Sanpura Viloo Tunnel being a vital link to connect this region with Kashmir valley.
Deputation also demanded immediate completion of Naigarh project to mitigate the problem of water scarcity. Besides other demands PDP delegation demanded opening of Women College at Kishtwar, start of work on proposed alternate highway to avoid traffic jamming in town, extension of regular air strip and staff and infrastructure at District Hospital and other health centers across the district. They said to avoid overloading in passenger vehicles which mostly result in tragic road accidents, SRTC buses be provided for Chatroo, Dool, Keshwan, Palmar, Sigdi, Trigam, Bonjwah and Sarthal areas.
