PDP for coordinated efforts to minimize miseries of people

JAMMU, Sept 16: Emphasizing on the need of initiating coordinated efforts to minimize miseries of the people at this crucial juncture, senior leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Vikramaditya Singh today exhorted party workers to reach each and every victim of the devastating flood so as to render every possible help at their door steps at the time of the worst ever crisis.
Singh said this while addressing a meeting of senior party leaders to review the initiatives taken by the PDP to provide immediate relief to the affected families.
He assured that very soon relief material would be reached to remotest areas of Poonch, Rajouri, Ramban, Reasi and Udhampur.
Singh said that residents of twin border districts have suffered immensely due to devastating floods and incessant rain and it was need of the hour that relief should be immediately dispatched to the affected areas of these two districts.
Vice president of the PDP and MLA Mendhar Rafiq Hussain, while speaking on the occasion, lambasted the State Government for adopting lackluster approach in dealing with such catastrophe.
“It is very unfortunate that except aerial surveys by the Ministers of the Coalition Government nothing concrete has been done so far to provide basic amenities to the affected families at grass-root level”, Khan said and added that a number of areas were still disconnected with the rest of the State as a number of vital roads have been washed away in the floods.
Former Rajya Sabha member and vice president of the party, Trilok Singh Bajwa told that standing crop in most parts of the plains of Jammu has been washed away in the flash flood. He demanded that a survey should be immediately conducted to assess the losses due to floods and incessant rains.
MLA Darhal and senior party leader Zulfikar Ali, senior leader and former MLC Ved Mahajan, Ex MLA Shanti Devi, Daman Bhasin, Chief co-ordinator Hamid Choudhary, State secretaries Fallail Singh, Hussain Ali Waffa,  Abdul Rashid Malik, Jagjit Singh Jagga, besides many others attended the meeting.
