JAMMU, Jan 10: National Conference (NC) today accused PDP of ‘trampling’ the identity of Jammu and Kashmir by siding with the BJP which had raked-up the Article 370 debate.
“PDP is a spent force and in a fit of desperation and lust for power it has volunteered to be a partner in implementing BJP’s agenda of trampling the special identity of J&K,” Tanvir Sadiq, political secretary to Omar Abdullah said today.
Addressing a huge gathering at Narsingpura in Budgam, Tanvir said that the party that has been shedding crocodile tears in Kashmir in the past needed to answer its tie-up with BJP.
He said, PDP-BJP ‘Agenda of the Alliance’ has become a joke at the expense of this State and its people and PDP has surrendered its voice so that it clings on to political power.
The Political secretary of Omar said that PDP’s Slogan of ‘Goli se nahi Boli se’ has become a cruel joke with the people of this State as it has turned into ‘Boli se nahi Goli se’, because of the Govt’s unprecedented crackdown on the people and separatist leaders.
Taking a dig on PDP led State Government, Tariq said, “Everybody knows as to how much New Delhi consults you on Kashmir Issue or on the issue of engagement with Pakistan or Separatists.
He said like all their other slogans and promises, this slogan too has fallen flat on its face.
The Political secretary reminded Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti of her election speeches where she sought votes for PDP as votes that would invariably amount to votes against the BJP and asked her to go through the footage of those speeches to remember her exact words and realize why her Government and her party have become so unpopular today.
Meanwhile, more than 200 activists of Congress and PDP joined National Conference at Narsingpora village of Beerwah and reposed faith in their leadership.
Welcoming the new entrants in into the party fold, Tanvir said that the large scale induction speaks volumes and confirms the party’s strong hold among the masses.
Mohd Ibrahim Magami, Block president Beerwah, youth leaders and various party leaders were present at the occasion.
