PDP-BJP misrule adds to woes of people: Mir

AKHNOOR, Jan 1: Blaming the ruling BJP-PDP Government in the State for worsening situation in the State, Pradesh Congress Committee chief Ghulam Ahmed Mir  today said that people are subjected to mental torture by the State Government in order to hide its failures.
“The PDP-BJP Government has miserably failed to deliver.  The misrule and mismanagement on their part has added to the woes of the people, ” he added.
Addressing public rally at Akhnoor today, Mir said all the promises made to the people by the PDP and the BJP after securing votes from them on sensitive issues, have fallen flat. “People have realized that they have been misled very badly on the AoA between PDP and BJP; unemployment has risen considerably; developmental process started by the UPA- I & UPA- II has come to standstill; lack of policy on the part of State Government has disturbed the socio political scenario of the state,” Mir said.
Describing the Congress as the only secular force in the country, the party chief said that Congress has always strengthened the secularism and it will continue to safeguard the secular fabric of the country.
Advocating for a social change to protect and promote the age old culture and rich ethos of our pluralistic society, the Ex- MP Madan Lal Sharma urged upon the people to make collective efforts for social reforms. He expressed concern degrading moral values due to the impact of westernization and stressed the need to acquaint our younger generation with our culture and traditions. He greeted the people on this auspicious occasion and hoped the coming year will further add to the peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
Senior vice president of PCC and former minister Sham Lal Sharma stressed the need for strengthening the bonds of social fabric and mutual brotherhood to make the society more harmonious and prosperous. Cautioned the people against the nefarious design of disgruntled and opportunistic forces who are out to disintegrate the society in the name of religion, castes, Sharma said that society is based on firm foundation of democracy and there is no place for the forces who divide the people for vested interests.
Referring to the gross discrimination with the people of Jammu division.  Sham Lal said that BJP has joined hands with its alliance partner PDP to victimize unemployed educated youth of Jammu and Ladakh regions by providing big chunk of jobs to Kashmir thus disrespecting its slogan “Sab ka sath sab ka vikas.” He said  that BJP ministers/MLA’s who are functioning as puppets to PDP in Government, is hell bent to destroy career of youth of Jammu.
CLP leader Nawang Rigzin Jora said  BJP has “completely failed” on all fronts and people are yet to see ‘achche din’, which, the BJP had promised. Claiming that “there is a big difference between in their (BJP’s) words and deeds”, he alleged that the government is creating an atmosphere of intolerance and is responsible for the rising number of atrocities in the centre and state.
Former minister Raman Bhalla, PCC vice president Kanta Bhan, Rajneesh Sharma,  Pranav Shagotra, Gharu Ram Bhagat, Anil Chopra, Zorawar Jamwal (Team Jammu) also spoke on the occasion.
