JAMMU, Dec 5: Expressing his anguish over the  failure of official machinery to solve day-to-day problems of  the people, former minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla today said that Government’s failure has been forcing the people to adopt agitational path.
“The way people are being forced to come on streets against non-availability of basic amenities like drinking water, ration and power is an indication of the total failure of the PDP-BJP Government”, Bhalla said, while interacting with people of Nai Basti area in Gandhi Nagar constituency to know their problems.
Bhalla said  that two and half year period of PDP-BJP regime is marked with conflict and fissures. He observed that day today problems of the people are compounding with every passing day and leaders of both the coalition partners are brazenly indulging into legalizing nepotism. He said that Government seems to be more concerned about hoodwinking the masses by making false promises rather than taking some concerted steps to solve their problems.
Castigating PDP-BJP Coalition for weakening traditional amity and regional harmony in this sensitive State, former minister accused the two parties of playing to galleries to conceal their inherent contradictions. “PDP and BJP are creating hype and plunging the State into uncalled for controversies over issues which are no way connected either with governance or the much touted development”, he said .
He alleged the PDP-BJP leaders are busy only in delivering sermons and repeating the hallow claims. The developmental activities are almost invisible and no concrete measures are taken to address the public issues.  “Unemployment is a huge challenge for the State and this problem contributes to the political uncertainty and unrest. Instead of taking concrete steps to provide means of livelihood to the people, this  Govt  has neglected it completely,” Cong leader said.
Bhalla claimed that BJP stood exposed in Jammu with its false propaganda. “There is no development. Instead, the schools which were opened during the regime of Congress have been closed by the Education Department. The building which was constructed by the Government after investing huge amounts has been locked. These structures are of no use now. The Coalition Govt has deprived poor people from taking education at their door step,” he alleged.
“Jammu under BJP Government has suffered adversely. Their false allegations and promises have exposed them before the people. They are only misleading the people with propaganda,”  Bhalla alleged.
