PDP-BJP Govt weakend Panchyati Raj: Ravinder

SUNDERBANI,  Feb 15: Congress Party today organised a block level convention of  workers to highlight the failure of the Central and State Govts on various fronts.
Led by PCC chief spokesperson  and former MLC,  Ravinder Sharma, a large number of Congress workers held an open convention as part of  `Chaurahe-Pe- Charcha’ launched by the Congress party. Prominent Congress leaders including Ex-Sarpanchs & Panchs of the area attended the programme.
Addressing the gathering,  Sharma said that the demonetisation   has derailed the economy of the country and the common man has faced numerous hardships. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi  and Central Govt have no answer to the failures and  miseries faced by the people.
He lashed out at the State Govt for weakening the Panchyati Raj system in the State  and questioned the mode, manner & legality of  the procedure adopted for delimitation of  Panchyats without adopting any transparent  and  fair process & without the knowledge of the local population/  Gram Sabhas. He said that conduct of elections in hush-hush manner is against the basic norms of democracy  and there are large scale complaints of  favourtism  and  irregularities.
The speakers opposed the policies of the Govt and pick and choose policy  being adopted on political considerations by the present Govt  representatives in every sphere of activities  and in the matter of developmental funds & the schemes of the Govt. The participants raised their voice against the failures of the Govt on all fronts especially in total failure to provide ration to the common people as per Govt  announcement & people are deprived of atta, wheat & sugar for months together. The issue of refugees was also projected  on the occasion.
DN Sharma, Krishan Soodan, Tirath Ram, Sat Paul Sharma, Om Parkash, Sat Pal,  Master Roshan Lal  Prashar,  Manik Raina,  Sanjiv  Sharma and others also spoke on the occasion.
