PDP, BJP continue in tactical alliance: Omar

BUDGAM: Upping the ante at Mehbooba Muft-led party over its decision to abstain from voting for the post of Deputy Chairman in Rajya Sabha, National Conference (NC) vice president Omar Abdullah on Thursday alleged that there was no doubt left anymore that PDP and BJP continue to be in a tactical alliance, despite breakdown of the coalition Government.

BJP-led NDA’s candidate Harivansh Narayan Singh was on Thursday elected as the new Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman with 125 votes, while UPA’s candidate BK Hariprasad got 105 votes.

Mr Abdullah, who is the former Chief Minister of the State, said this had again become clear, when PDP’s two MPs in the Rajya Sabha abstained from voting in the election of the Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairperson and by the tragic fact that the elaborate report on Article 35-A continues to gather dust on the Law Secretary’s tables, since one year.  (AGENCIES)
