PDD workers’ strike enters 85th day

JAMMU, Feb 20:  The strike and protest dharna of the daily rated workers of Power Development Department (PDD)  entered the 85th consecutive day today.
These daily rated/ casual/  temporary workers under the banner of All J&K PDD Daily Wagers Union, led by Surjeet Khajuria ( president) launched the strike on November 28, 2016. They are sitting on dharna outside the office of SE, (EM&RE) Circle -I , Jammu near Panama Chowk. They are demanding regularization of their services and release of their pending wages.  They are also demanding the conduct of DPC which is pending for the last three years and circle wise seniority wise list of the employees.
They urged upon the Minister Incharge PDD,  Dr Nirmal Singh (DyCM) and Chief Secretary to intervene personally to solve their pending issues.  Bharat Singh- chairman, Gurnam Slathia, vice president and Ashwani Mehra,  general secretary also spoke on the occasion.
