JAMMU, Aug 9: Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) today said that Power Development Department has failed to implement the concept of ‘Ease of Doing Business’.
The issue was raised during a meeting of BBIA held today under the presidentship of Lalit Mahajan. Suresh Mahajan, senior vice president, Ajay Langer, general secretary, Vivek Singhal, secretary and Viraaj Malhotra, treasurer, were also present.
During the course of discussions, members present in the meeting raised their serious concern in respect of delay tactics adopted by office of the Development Commissioner, Power in respect of sanction of new/additional power connections in respect of power load more than 200 HP.
They further said that Power Development Commissioner is not adhering the guidelines of the Govt Order No 152-PDDof 2011 dated 28-04-2011 by the virtue of which a regular monthly meeting shall be held to clear the pending power connection cases where as the meeting shall always be held at the sweet will of the Development Commis-sioner Power and the unnecessary objections always raised to delay the issue of power connections to the needy industrial units who are suffering very badly due to non release of power connections in time.
Members also showed their resentment for the non implementation of “Ease of Doing Concept” by the PDD for the re-delegation of powers to the designated officials to minimize the delay in the sanction of power connections in spite of the assurances given by the Government from time to time.
They appealed to Dr Nimral Singh, Deputy Chief Minister, who is also Power Minister and Chander Parkash, Minister for Industries & Commerce, to intervene into the matter and issue immediate orders to the concerned officials to adhere the guidelines of the Government Order No 152-PDDof 2011 dated 28-04-2011 of PDD for the time bound sanction of power cases, re-delegate the powers for the sanction of power connections to Chief Engineers, M&RE, Jammu/Kashmir up to 1000 HP.
