JAMMU, Nov 15: Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) has alleged that Power Development Department (PDD) has failed to implement the `Ease of Doing Business’ concept in the region.
In a meeting of Association  held here today under the leadership of  Lalit Mahajan (President-BBIA), the members   including Suresh Mahajan,  Ajay Langer  Vivek Singhal , Viraaj Malhotra and others expressed serious concern over the deteriorating power supply position in the Industrial complex.
The members raised their concern in respect of non- implementation of `Ease of Doing Business’ concept by the Power Development Department resulting great inconvenience faced by the Industrial Units in respect of sanction of power loads, permission for the installation of DG sets and other related matters of the  industrial sector of J&K.
It is pertinent to mention here that the requisite document for the adoption of `Ease of Doing Business’ concept  lying with the department since last so many months  but due to vested interests of some of the officials of the PDD, the approval of the same is still pending.
It is worthwhile to mentioned here that the Power Development Commissioner  not at all adhere the guidelines of the Govt Order No 152-PDDof 2011 dated 28-04-2011 by the virtue of which a regular monthly meeting shall be held to clear the pending power connection cases where as the meeting shall always be held at the sweet will of the Development Commissioner Power & the unnecessary objections always raised to delay the issue of Power Connections to the needy Industrial units who are suffering very badly due to  non-release of power connections in time resulting delay in the start of Commercial Production due to which they suffered huge financial Losses & the interest being paid on the amount borrowed from the financial institutions.
Further, the files related to the  re-delegation of powers to the designated officials to minimize the delay in the sanction of power connections not yet cleared by the department.
The BBIA appealed to the Minister Incharge Power  Dr Nirmal Singh (DyCM) to intervene into the matter and issue directions to the officials concerned.
