JAMMU, Apr 18: The protest of All J&K PDD Daily Wagers’ Union, Jammu province in the office premises of SE, EM&RE Circle, Jammu, in support of their demands, entered 139th day, today.
The daily wagers of the department under the chairmanship of Bharat Singh, chairman of the Union, have been continuously on ‘Kaam Choro Hartal’ since November 28, 2016 and staging dharna in the office premises of SE, EM&RE Circle, Jammu, demanding regularization of all daily wagers who have completed seven years of service.
Addressing the protesting daily wagers, Bharat Singh said that the daily wagers especially of Jammu and Kathua districts are the most sufferers as they are facing the partiality as compared with daily wagers of other districts. He said that due to this partiality by the department, daily wagers of Jammu and Kathua districts have become much junior to their colleagues posted in other districts, as they have not been regularized at par with the latter.
The union decided to organize a massive rally from Press Club Jammu to Civil Secretariat to press for their demand.
