PDD daily wagers demand wages

Excelsior Correspondent
RAJOURI, Jan 21:  The PDD daily wagers/ casual and need based workers have urged upon the Govt to release  wages of the workers from Jammu region.
These workers led by Akhil Sharma are sitting on protest dharna outside the office of Chief Engineer PDD (M&RE) for the last 154 days. They pointed out that despite meetings with the Chief Engineer  and DC (Power), their issue could not be resolved.
They said that workers are demanding their pending wages of 50 to 60 months, their regularization and insurance cover. The Kashmir based workers have already been paid by the Government and Jammu based workers are suffering. It is unfortunate that no BJP MLAs from Jammu speaks for them. The DYCM who is also from Jammu,  is least bothered about their plight.
They appealed to the Chief Minister to intervene into their matter and get their wages released as their  families are facing starvation.
