Mr Mir was apprised by the members of the media fraternity about the flawed advertisement policy, which is a matter of concern, as the Govt’s policy towards fourth pillar of democracy is highly regrettable.
“The Govt should immediately address the concerns of the media men including of national newspapers and  review the policy to make it media friendly in order to encourage the growth and survival of newspapers industry, keeping in view the important role of media in the democracy, especially in this State,” Mir maintained.
PCC chief said that time has come for the Govt to revisit its advertisement  policy considering the guidelines of the Indian Newspapers Society (INS) and on the pattern of other States like Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Odissa.
