PCC chief questions PM’s silence on Kashmir situation

SRINAGAR, Aug 2: Questioning the Kashmir policy of Central Govt, Pradesh Congress today sought clarity from the Govt over continuous deteriorating situation in entire Valley and blamed both State and Central Govts for failing to handle the situations.
Lashing out at Central Govt for failing to contain the boiling situation in Kashmir, PCC chief GA Mir has said that mishandling of the situation and the wrong policies of Central Govt has disturbed the socio political scenario of State, especially in Valley, as a result there seems to be no sign of improvement on ground and situation continues to remain boiling. Centre Govt must adopt pro- people policies, as that will only infuse a sense of security among people, he said.
Mir also blamed Govt for not showing any seriousness about the Kashmir situation and well being of people.  He said  even the all partys’ meet convened sometime ago could not defuse  tensions, for the fact, the suggestions put forth and important points relating to safety and security of everyone “raised in the meet” by opposition were not implemented.
PCC chief also questioned the silence being maintained by  Prime Minister on Kashmir situation. He said PM doesn’t seem to be serious about State. Central Govt must change its attitude towards J&K State and take early effective measures to address concerns of people.
Criticizing Prime Minister for not showing any interest about the well being of J&K State, PCC chief said that PM should stop looking J&K through a different prism and open his heart for the people of State. “It is obligatory on the part of Narendra Modi as Prime Minister to think seriously about the  safety, security and development of everyone living in J&K State,” Mir added.
This is unfortunate that situation remains as it was earlier and common people continue to suffer on every front, failure of the Central Govt to normalize the situation was root cause of the present turmoil, besides the Home Minister’s visit to Valley proved a complete failure. Centre Govt was supposed to send an all party delegation to Kashmir in order to assess the situation, but it was astonishing that Home Minister visited Valley without doing any proper ground work, which is indicative of arrogance of Centre Govt, Mir maintained.
