JAMMU, Mar 11: Migrant Cell activists of PCC discussed the problems of the displaced Pandits in detail with PCC chief, Ghulam Ahmed Mir and sought his immediate intervention in settling the long pending demands of the displaced people from Valley.
The Migrant Cell leaders including Bansi Lal Raina and Ajay Bharti said that both Central and State governments have failed to solve the problems of the Kashmiri migrants.
They said the promises made by the leaders of BJP and PDP with migrants have totally proved hollow. They demanded enhancement of monthly cash relief, issuance of backward certificates on priority basis, timely disbursement of cash relief, relaxation of age for PM package employees, release of pending ex-gratia for damaged properties and protection of Hindu shrines and temples in Valley.
The other activists present in the meeting included Ramesh Ji, Vimal Ji, Veer Ji, Krishan Lal, R L Hangloo and Sudesh Raina.
Meanwhile, convener of the Cell, Ghulam Qadir Bhat has expressed his grave concern over shortage of staff and doctors at Jagti Hospital. He demanded that hospital be made functional for round the clock as patients are facing problems in case of emergency during evening and night hours.
He also demanded relaxation of age for the displaced over aged youth so that they can fill up the forms under PM’s job package.
