Pawan Gupta files defamation case against Pawan Khajuria

UDHAMPUR, Oct 9: Independent MLA from Udhampur, Pawan Gupta has filed a defamation case of Rs two crore against BJP State general secretary, Pawan Khajuria in the Court of Principal District Judge Jammu for using unconstitutional, un -parliamentary and filthy language against him in a press conference just after the election of President of India who was elected by the Electoral College comprising of the Parliament and State assemblies of the country.
Gupta in his defamation suit alleged that BJP State general secretary, Pawan Khajuria has stated in a press conference that MLA Udhampur has voted against NDA candidate and the President of India, Ram Nath Kovid. He further alleged that Khajuria also stated that he had betrayed the BJP and the public of Udhampur Assembly Constituency. Pawan Gupta in his suit made it clear that he is an independent MLA of the J&K Assembly because the people of Udhampur Assembly Constituency have given their mandate in his favour as an independent candidate, when he contested against the BJP candidate Pawan Khajuria who was enjoying the Modi wave also. Gupta said that Pawan Khajuria is trying to defame him and his family especially his father who was a great leader of Jammu & Kashmir State.
Gupta disclosed that he had served a legal notice to Pawan Khajuria on August 2 this  year but he did not bother the legal notice also. Left with no option ultimately he has registered a petition in the Court of Principal District Judge, Jammu for legal proceedings and Court has served a legal notice to Pawan Khajuria against suit for damages and depreciation and directed him to appear in this court in the Additional District Judge, Udhampur on 11.11.2017.
Talking to media persons here, today Pawan Gupta said that he was not a BJP MLA nor the people of Udhampur voted in his favour as BJP candidate. Accusing the BJP general secretary of damaging his reputation in a press conference held by him recently he said that he has filled a demotion suit for Rs two crore against BJP leader.
