JAMMU, Jan 15: Retired District and Sessions Judge, Pavitar Singh Bhardwaj has been elected unanimously as president of Shri Amar Kshatriya (Rajput) Sabha, J&K.
He has replaced Narayan Singh, who has recently joined BJP. Narayan Singh after joining politics stepped down as president of the Rajput Sabha today.
An emergency meeting of the Central Working Committee of the Rajput Sabha, was held here today under the chairmanship of outgoing president, where all the members of the Sabha and Rajput Biradari held deliberations, and unanimously decided to install Retired Judge, Pavitar Singh as new president of the Sabha.
A spokesman of the Sabha said that all the Units of the Sabha stand disclosed with the resignation Narayan Singh. The new units will be framed shortly. He said as per the Sabha constitution, it is an apolitical organization, therefore, the president of the Sabha must be a non-political person.
The speakers during the meeting welcomed the decision of Narayan Singh, leaving the post on moral grounds and also lauded his efforts for the upliftment and welfare of the biradari. They said Raj Tilak Bhawan at Purani Mandi was converted into 4 floors and new Sabha Bhawans were also raised at Samba, Kathua and Billawar with the efforts of his team Even, nearly 2 kanal and 2 marla Rajput Sabha land was also vacated from the illegal occupants in Dogra Hall area of Jammu.
Narayan Singh in his address extended gratitude to the Sabha members and other office bearers for their support during his tenure as president and assured full cooperation to the Sabha even being in BJP. He said all the existing Sabha units also stand dissolved with his resignation.
The newly elected president, Pavitar Singh extended gratitude to the Central Committee and Sabha members for reposing faith in his leadership and resolved to work with dedication for the welfare and upliftment of the biradari.
