Patwar Association dharna enters 5th day

KATHUA, Feb 15: The dharna launched by Patwar Association Kathua demanding the arrest of ex-serviceman involved in attack on Police and Revenue team at village Bhagey Chack last week entered in fifth day when a revenue team along with police party visited the village to get possession of piece of land encroached by the ex-serviceman.
Instead of cooperating with Revenue officials and police team the Ex Serviceman opened fire and ran away from the site.
The Patwar Association demanding his arrest warned to launch indefinite strike. The President of the Association, Sardar Ali widely condemned the attitude of police and raised question on the working of police in delaying his arrest. The Patwar Association warned to extend strike upto Jammu province if police fails to arrest the accused.
However, SP Kathua Pawan Parihar appealed the Patwar Association to withdraw the strike and resume their duty as police is busy in arresting the accused and continue raids are conducted in Jammu area . He said it is not the matter only for Revenue Department but the team of police Department was also present on the spot when the ex-soldier opened fire. A case in this connection has already been registered and the wife of accused was also arrested. He said how long the accused evade the arrest. “Trust on police as the police id doing its job. The Patwar Association needs to withdraw strike for the sake of common man”, he added.
