Pathania bats for Radio Station at Ramnagar

UDHAMPUR, Feb 14: Ranbir Singh Pathania, MLA Ramnagar, while taking up the matter with Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Arun Jaitly and MoS PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh, has called for setting up of a High Frequency, Radio Station at Ramnagar.
He said that there is a wide cross-section of radio-listeners in Ramnagar which shall be benefitted with this proposed radio station. Furthermore, he added, Ramnagar has been the very hub and heartland of local folk artists, singers, dancers whose teeming talent shall find a pedestal and voice. “And it shall be a major step towards propagation, preservation and promotion of local art and culture although artists and singers from Ramnagar are occasionally called to Radio Station at Jammu,” he explained.
The MLA said that the move shall be another milestone in preservation of Dogri as well as Gaddi and  Gujjar cultures and their folks and practices in Ramnagar as well as adjoining areas of Billawar, Bani, Chenani, etc.
