UDHAMPUR, Oct 1: Parveen Handball Club and District Coaching Centre Udhampur lifted men and women titles respectively as the District Handball Championship concluded, here today.
In the men’s section, Parveen Handball Club defeated Udhampur Handball Club by 26-25 to win the title, while in the women’s section, District Coaching Centre Udhampur defeated APS Udhampur by 11-10 to claim the title.
Ravinder Singh, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur was the chief guest on the valedictory function.
In the closing ceremony, chief guest distributed mementoes and medals among the winners and the participants.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest threw light on sportsmanship and value of sports in day today life.
The championship was organized under the supervision of Ravi Singh Jaswal, General Secretary of District Udhampur Handball Association. The officials of the tournament were Ajay Sharma, Rishi Sharma, Ravi Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Vipin Photra, Raju, Sourav Pandit and Karun Magotra.
Prominent among others who were present were Vikram Singh, Arun Gupta, Suresh Khajuria, Sanjeev Magotra, Sanjeev Verma, Arun Mehta, Jasbir Singh and Surjeet Singh.
