Panthers baffled by Dr Jitendra’s development initiatives: BJYM

Excelsior Correspondent

UDHAMPUR, Feb 21: Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) led by Akhil Parashar , its district president today denounced certain statements made by Panthers Party leader and former MLA  B.S Mankotia about village Saddal.
Talking to reporters here, today he said the statement exposed the extreme ignorance  of Panthers Party and its leaders, who are baffled by a series of revolutionary development initiatives taken for Udhampur under its MP and Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh.
Parashar said among these developmental initiatives Rs 170.50 Crore were sanctioned for river Devika cleaning project under “National River Conservation Plan” (NRCP), fulfilment of 50 year old demand for a Radio Station at Udhampur to be constructed at cost of Rs 9.74 Crore   approval of Post Office Passport Seva Kendra  at Udhampur, allocation of exclusive funds for Sports Stadium and many more such new initiatives.
While making clarifications about village Saddal ravaged by flash floods in September 2014, Parashar said the Village has never been adopted under “Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna” by Union Minister and MP Dr Jitendra Singh.
He said at the first place, village Saddal does not qualify to be adopted under the  Yojna because only an existing village is adopted to be further developed as “Model Village”,  under the scheme whereas Saddal village was totally washed out  by floods and requires reconstruction with huge resources by State Government and Udhampur District Administration is the nodal agency. These facts can be verified from DC Udhampur, he added.
He said the local MP showed so great concern for the village and the welfare of the people who were affected by flash floods that he raised over Rs. 50 Lakh from different sources as contribution towards reconstruction of village, personally visited there  and arranged for distribution for free Solar Kitchens, lights, house hold items and other basic amenities. More funds may also be raised from voluntary resources for the purpose, he added.
Parashar said it is for Panthers Party and its leader Balwant  Singh Mankotia to answer what he or his Party has contributed for the re-construction of village as he was also a sitting MLA when floods took place.
