After conducting ULB elections, the State Govt administration has geared up its lions for conducting peaceful Panchayat elections also as has been scheduled by the election authority in the State. The intension of the Central and the State Govts is to empower the people at the village level. Despite confronting odious situations the present. Government did not backtrack from the stand taken in empowering the common people of the State. People in general showed positive response in the ULB elections despite fear psychosis created among the people. The schedule for Panchayat elections in the State has been published. Like ULB elections, people should participate in large numbers so that development takes place in the remote corners of the State too. Funds will percolate at the grass root level as has been decided by the Central Govt for the welfare of the State. Direct funding from the Centre will build confidence among the Panches at the village level and their proper utilization will lead villages towards prosperity and development.
