Pall of gloom descends on Rajouri village after Naseer’s martyrdom

JAMMU, Feb 15: A pall of gloom descended on Dudasan village of Thannamandi in district Rajouri, after the news of martyrdom of local youth, Naseer Ahmed reached the family through, local Police Station late last evening.
The shell shocked relatives and villagers of the area rushed to the home of the martyr Naseer immediately as this unexpected bad news spread like a wild- fire in the entire area. Scores of relatives and villagers started assembling at the native village of Naseer Ahmed (HC) of 76th Battalion CRPF and even throughout the day today, they kept on waiting for arrival of the mortal remains of the jawan.

Youngest in the family, Naseer (46 years), son of Fakhar Din, has one brother –Sirajuddin who also serves in J&K Police and is Head Constable, presently posted in Jammu. He has five sisters and two children Falak (daughter) studying in 3rd and Qasid (son) in class Ist. As Battalion of Naseer is in Jammu area at present, he along with his wife- Shazia and children was residing in rented accommodation. He had got his children admitted in a good school in Jammu city.
His brother, Siraj said Naseer had been asked by the seniors to accompany the convoy from Jammu as commander and he had to come back after two days from there. His health was not good and he had called him from Banihal area through his mobile phone in the morning while going to Srinagar, telling that he had some fever and after reaching his camp at Srinagar he would get himself checked from the Unit doctor.
An emotional Siraj in choked voice revealed that he did not know that it was last call of his beloved brother. He said Naseer had recently constructed Pucca house and a kitchen at home village and had been saying that he would take retirement and settle for good in his village. The villagers said that Naseer was friendly with every body and he used to tell the young boys of his area to stay away from drugs and focus on games and their studies.
Everyone waiting at his home village today for the arrival of his mortal remains in ‘tri-colour wrapped coffin’, was in tears. They were recalling Naseer’s recent interactions and words, praising his qualities and pleasant nature.
Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, Aijaz Ahmed Asad and SSP, Yougal Manhas paid visit to the home of the martyr along with some senior officers from District administration during the day today and expressed their grief with the family over the incident of terrorists’ attack in which the son of the soil along with 43 others lost life while on duty.
Manhas told the Excelsior that coffin of martyr Naseer Ahmed along with another jawan from Himachal was boarded off at Pathankot airbase by the special aircraft moving from Srinagar to Delhi this evening and from there it is being brought to Rajouri. The mortal remains of the jawan are expected to reach home village, Dudasan, which is about 15 kms from Rajouri town, late night.
The Deputy Commissioner said that last rites of the martyr Naseer Ahmed will be performed with full police honour tomorrow at 10 am where entire administration and prominent people of the area will pay their tributes to the brave son of the soil.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh will officially attend the funeral and last rites of Pulwama attack martyr Naseer Ahmed at his native place near Thannamandi, Rajouri tomorrow.
