Pak violates ceasefire again

JAMMU, Mar 19: Pakistan army violated ceasefire for the third consecutive day by shelling forward areas and posts along the Line of Control (LoC) with mortar bombs in Akhnoor sector early this morning.
“There was continuous ceasefire violation as the Pakistani troops resorted to heavy firing and mortar shelling in Pallanwalla and Khour areas of Akhnoor sector in Jammu district during the wee hours of today morning,” reports said, adding the Indian side retaliated effectively and strongly, silencing the Pakistani guns.
There was no casualty or damage on the Indian side in Pakistan’s shelling and firing today. However, some damage was reported on Pakistan side.
Yesterday, an Indian Army jawan was martyred and four others were injured in Pakistan shelling and firing in Sunderbani sector.
On Sunday too, the sector was targeted by the Pakistan Army in unprovoked ceasefire violation.
The border skirmishes witnessed a spurt after India’s air strike on a Jaish-e-Mohammed terror camp in Balakote on February 26 in response to the February 14 Pulwama terror attack in which 44 CRPF personnel were martyred. The Indian air strike had killed large number of Jaish militants in Balakote. Pakistani troops have violated ceasefire over 110 times along the Line of Control (LoC) this year.
