JAMMU, Apr 26: Pakistani army today again violated ceasefire by targeting forward posts and villages along the Line of Control (LoC) in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district with mortar shells and gunfire.
“Pakistan army initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of small arms, automatics and mortars from 0830 hours today in Sunderbani sector along LoC,” reports said.
The Indian Army retaliated strongly and effectively, they said adding the firing stopped at 1100 hours.
There has been a spurt in the ceasefire violations along the LoC in twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch this year.
However, according to reports, there were no casualties or damage on the Indian side in ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops in Sunderbani sector today. Pakistan was, however, reported to have suffered extensive damages in retaliation by the Indian troops.
