‘Padmaavat’ nears the Rs 150 cr mark

NEW DELHI, Jan 31:
Continuing its strong run at the box office in India, ‘Padmaavat’  is now nearing the Rs 50 cr mark at the box office with earnings of Rs 142 cr in nine days, trade soures said on Wednesday.
‘After recording huge collections during its weekend,the film continued to earn well on its weekedays, with collection of Rs 13 cr on its ninth day.
This has taken the total earnings of the film to RS 142 cr. Despiute a limited release, with theatres in four states deciding not to release the film, ‘Padmaavat’ has done excellent business.
Trade sources said that considering the continued rush to theatres for ‘padmaavat’, the film is likely to cross the Rs 150 cr mark by the end opf the opening week  and is well on course to cross the Rs 200 Crore Club.
The film, which stars Deepika Padukone in the lead role of rani Padmavati with Shahid Kapoor playing Rajput King Maharawal Ratan Singh and ranveer Singh playing the role of Allauddin Khilji, has been drawing huge crowds since its release on January 25.
The film also features Aditi Rao Hydari, Jim Sarbh, Raza Murad, and Anupriya Goenka in key roles. (UNI)
