Package disbursement process made complicated: Chuni

JAMMU, Feb 23: SOS International, an organization of the displaced persons from PoK, has alleged that the whole process of   disbursement of relief amount meant for  DPs of 1947, 65 and 71 is completely imperfect and has made more complicated by the authorities.
In a press statement here today, the chairman of the organization, Rajiv Chuni said that the procedure which authorities have adopted clearly indicate that the scheme is going to prove disastrous because the officials appointed are totally ignorant and unaware of the ground realities. He alleged that the officials who were hardly appointed 1-2 years back are giving suggestions to higher authorities regarding relief amount disbursement among PoK DPs which is resulting in drastic rise in the trouble for them.
“PoK DPs who have been facing trouble for last seven decades are again facing  another trouble due to the strategy of the Government. No notification was published in print media regarding issuance of claim forms. Everything has been messed up due to bad and weird planning of authorities. Only one counter has been setup for disbursement of claim forms which is at Provincial Rehabilitation Office (PRO) where long queues are being witnessed,” Chuni added.
The refugee leader further said that strange conditions in terms of collecting credentials have become another headache for PoK  DPs. “Government is asking for making legal heir certificate but if head of the family is already there then what is the use of legal heir certificate ? An additional strange condition that Government is putting is to attach copy of “Form A or Loan ledger or Nominal Role” duly certified by PRO/Dy. PRO which is unjustified.
If the claimant is already having the said copy/copies issued by the same authority with him then what is the fun of asking for certified copy. The next condition is submission of State Subject/ Aadhar Card. It is widely known that approximately 90% PoK DPs don’t have PRC/Aadhar Card and to cope with this, it has been urged upon the higher authorities to launch camps for immediate issuance of these vital documents.
