UDHAMPUR, Dec 3:  The story and photographs of  River Devika has been displayed in an exhibition on Indian’s Urban River at India River Day- 2017 at the INTACH, Delhi premises.
It is recalled that the INTACH Jammu chapter has nominated Anil Paba a social activist from Udhampur to participate in the said exhibition. Anil Paba presented his research work and photographs on different themes including pollution, flood, encroachment etc on Devika river which recently comes under National River Conservation Plan.
The exhibition has been divided into various sections and photographs from 25 cities across India will be exposed to the viewers to the know the realty of  how urban activities are directly impacting the river ecosystem, provided by the river that are often neglected, relationship of  various communities with the river for daily life, livelihood and rituals and the immense natural and cultural treasures that are endangered by our apathy,  complicity and multitude of vested interest.
“India’s River says” was organized by a group of organizations  that have come together under the name of  India River Week, these include INTACH, Yamuna Jiye Abhiyan, WWF India, Toxics Link, Peace Institute  Charitable Trust, People’s   Science Institute  and Sandrp.
