Overall development, welfare of employees Govt’s priority: Zulfkar

JAMMU, Apr 17: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Choudhary Zulfkar Ali today said overall development and welfare of employees is one of the topmost priorities of the present Government.
Speaking during a meeting with the delegation of FCS&CA Employees Association “Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA&PD) Association Kashmir”, the Minister appreciated FCS&CA employees for maintaining the professional work attitude while delivering their duties.
The Minister said that present dispensation is well aware with various challenges public employees face while delivering their professional duties and would duly be rewarded for it.
“We work with a simple motto that those helping the Government in its developmental works should be rewarded,” the Minister said.
While pursuing holistic development of the State, Zulfkar said it is important that welfare of employees is also kept in mind, adding, overall development and welfare of its employees is one of its top priorities of the Government.
After hearing the issues raised by the representatives of the employee association, the Minister said re-organization of FCS&CA Department is must for the growth of FCS&CA department and its employees.
“We are principally agreeing that we will do re-organization of the department as and when we will get financially concurrence,” the Minister assured.
He said the move while increasing the man power within the department would also increase the promotion chances of its employees.
Directing to constitute a high level committee headed by Special Secretary, FCS&CA, the Minister said the committee would thoroughly look into the matter and submit a detailed report in next two months. The concerned would immediately forward the case to Finance Department for financial concurrence, the Minister informed.
The Minister also directed officials to prepare a report on the food grains lying in Letipora Store which were damaged due to destructive flood of September 2014. He said to make the disposal process transparent, the department may present the report to cabinet members and will seek their opinion regarding its disposal.
Secretary, FCS&CA Shafiq Raina, Special Secretary Nissar Ahmad Wani Director, FCS&CA, Jammu, G S Chib, Director, FCS&CA, Kashmir Tassudaq Jeelani, Chairman, CA&PD Employees and Workers Association Kashmir, Farooq Ahmad Mir, President  CA&PD Employees and Workers Association Kashmir Ajaz Ahmad Khan, Senior Vice President, CA&PD Employees and Workers Association Kashmir Abdul Qayoom Beigh, Vice President CA&PD Employees and Workers Association Kashmir, Hameedullah Bhat, District President Parveez Ahmad Dar, and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
