JAMMU, June 17: A large number of wireless operators, who were ousted by the J&K Police Department from services, today held a protest here near Dogra Chowk, demanding justice by implementing stay orders of State High Court (HC).
Scores of ousted wireless operators carrying banners gathered near Dogra Chowk to express their anger against State police department, who terminated their services after taking seven years of service.
While protesting, the ousted wireless operators said that they were selected as constable (wireless operators) in J&K police but after rendering their services for seven years, they were terminated by the department with a very impractical reason that the criteria for the same post (Constable post) is now considered on State level. “What kind of justice this is”, they questioned.
They alleged that reframing of the list was done in a pre-planned manner i.e, on January 18, 2017, when the courts of J&K were in non-working conditions due to winter vacation, so that they could not get a chance to stay the order passed against them.
“On January 27, 2017, the Court stayed that order and directed the department to allow us (ousted wireless operators) to resume our duties and withdraw salaries regularly but till date the department did not implement the court orders”, they added.
They demanded justice for them and appealed Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to intervene into the matter and provide them justice.
