JAMMU, Jan 31: More organizations have strongly condemned the statement of Hurriyat hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani for terming the two Hizbul Mujahideen dreaded terrorists as martyrs.
In a statement issued here, today Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) former president and senior leader Tulsi Dass Langeh while saluting the martyr Col. M N Rai and Head Constable Sanjeev Singh who have laid down their lives for maintaining peace and upholding integrity of the country in gun battle with militants at Tral in District Pulwama of Kashmir Valley, strongly condemned the statement of Syed Ali Shah Geelani for glorifying militancy.
He said on the one hand Mr Geelani has remained the member of J&K Legislative Assembly, taken oath on the name of Indian Constitution and enjoying pensionary benefits as well as security but on the other hand he is describing the terrorists as martyrs which tantamounts to treason.
Meanwhile, Shri Ram Sena described Hurriyat leaders as Pakistani agents in India. Rajiv Mahajan president Ram Sena has taken strong exception to the statement of Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani for terming the militants killed in an encounter as martyrs.
Reacting to the statement of Geelani, Mahajan said people like him were misusing the freedom of speech in the country and deserve penal action under treason law. He urged the Union Government to act strongly against Hurriyat leader.
