Opposition rattled by BJP’s development focus: Dr Jitendra

RAMNAGAR, July 7: Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, who is also Lok Sabha MP from Udhampur-Kathua-Doda, today said that the opposition is thoroughly rattled by BJP’s development focus, as a result of which, while the BJP Karyakarta is fully motivated and occupied by the task of carrying forward BJP’s developmental schemes and pro-poor programmes inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Congress and its allies are spending their entire energy and time in issuing unsubstantiated statements against BJP, out of desperation to keep themselves relevant.

Addressing a public meeting cum Ujjwala beneficiaries programme, Dr Jitendra Singh said, the question that 125 crore people of this country are asking today is why pro-people initiatives like Ujjwala or Mudra Yojana could not be undertaken by the Congress and its allies during their 65 years of rule. When these parties find themselves unable to come out with an answer and also fail to match the development record of four years of the Modi Government, they are left with nothing to say except to allege that BJP is dividing the nation, even as the fact is that BJP today has gained acceptability across the country, from East to West, North to South and even Northeast.
With reference to the current political scene in Jammu & Kashmir, Dr Jitendra Singh said, BJP is the only political party which has the capacity to enter in Government with the objective of implementing its developmental agenda and at the same time, if required, to walk out of the Government if it realizes that its developmental agenda is not proceeding ahead at the expected pace.
It is a strange irony, Dr Jitendra Singh said that while the BJP stands united, whether in power or out of power, the opposition parties start breaking down the moment they loose power. This is the reason, he said, political parties like Congress and National Conference are going through a paranoid syndrome, because they do not have the capacity to keep their own flock together and feel unnerved by the BJP’s amazing organizational strength and cohesion.
On the occasion, Dr Jitendra Singh declared Rs.1 crore MP Fund for Ramnagar Assembly Constituency, out of which, he disclosed that Rs. 50 lakh had already been dispensed and another Rs. 50 lakh will be released for the priority works to be decided by the local MLA and the other local representatives.
Dr Jitendra Singh said that the Sports Stadium was sanctioned for Ramnagar from the Central Funds when he was holding the additional charge of the Union Sports Ministry and he was happy to note the construction work going on at a satisfactory pace. He also gave instructions for drinking water and toilet facility for the local College, which had been deprived of the same by the earlier governments, even though the constituency was represented in the State Cabinet.
Out of Rs. 3800 crore Central Fund sanctioned for PMGSY Roads for the State in the current year, Dr Jitendra Singh said, more than Rs. 1700 crore has been earmarked for Udhampur-Kathua-Doda constituency, out of which nearly Rs.400 crore for Ramnagar Assembly constituency, which is the highest ever amount in the last 70 years.
Dr Jitendra Singh disclosed that the first-ever Radio Station at Udhampur will become functional by the year end, while the work on “Devika River Cleaning Project” at the cost of over Rs.170 crore Central Fund is likely to start soon. Similarly, he said, a comprehensive DPR has been prepared for the cleaning and upkeep of the “Mansar Lake” which has the potential to develop as a popular tourist spot.
MLA Ramnagar R.S. Pathania, BJP District President Udhampur Rakesh Gupta, District General Secretary Amit Sharma, Block President Rajinder Sharma and others also spoke on the occasion.
