Oppn being ignored by TV, Radio: Monga

JAMMU, Jan 19: Several members today raised issues of public importance in the Legislative Council during the Zero Hour.
Javid Mirchal demanded opening of Kupwara-Karnah road which is blocked due to heavy snowfall at Sadhna pass. He stressed the men and machinery be pressed into service to clear the road at the earliest.
Ghulam Nabi Monga said that proceedings of the house are not being given due coverage in electronic media especially in Doordarshan and in Radio. Dr Bashir Ahmad Veeri, Qaiser Jamsheed Lone, Naresh Kumar Gupta and Sajad Ahmad Kichloo seconded him.
Jugal Kishore informed the House that three persons were killed and 10 injured in an accident in Reasi district on Wednesday and demanded that the Government should make a statement in the House regarding the accident.
Shahnaz Ganai demanded sufficient quota of K-Oil be provided to the people of remote areas of Poonch especially during the winter season. She also demanded adequate supply of ration for the area.
Firdous Ahmad Tak demanded that helicopter services should be started for the far flung and snow bound areas like Padder, Wadwan, Dachan and Marwah as these are disconnected from the rest of the State due to heavy snowfall.
Surinder Kumar Choudhary demanded immediate action against shopkeepers selling items on exorbitant rates and asked for regular market checks.
Minister for Agriculture Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura assured the members that the points raised by them will be looked into seriously and redressed on priority.
