KATHUA, Jan 15: BJP leaders today made a strong dig at opposition parties including Congress, National Conference (NC) for hoodwinking the public opinion on the performance of three year BJP coalition in the State and four and half years Narendra Modi led NDA Government at the Centre.
Talking to reporters here, today, district president of the party, Prem Nath Dogra said that those accusing BJP has done nothing in the State and at Centre are suffering from political myopia and are in great desperation after losing the power.
They are trying to mislead and hoodwink the people by negating the good work done by BJP in the State as well as at Centre, he added.
Dogra said projects and schemes worth thousands crores of rupees were brought for the State by the BJP Government and after their completion the State will witness a new era of development. The power generation will get boost and the irrigation and drinking water problem will be solved as well as there will be a good net work of roads and highways in the State.
He cited the example of Shahpur Kandi agreement coupled with sanction of Ujh Multipurpose Project will not only boost the power generation in the State but also help in solving the drinking water and irrigation problem in the Kandi belt of Kathua. These two projects will be a game changer for the State as agriculture, horticulture and floriculture will get boost.
Dogra said sanctioning of Chattergala Tunnel, construction of Kerian Gandyal bridge which is to be dedicated to public on January 22 , construction of Biotech Park at Ghati, sanction of five medical colleges, AIIMS, Engineering College and Seed processing plant are other major achievements of the Government. This all became possible with the untiring efforts of the Union Minister in PMO and local MP, Dr Jitendra Singh. Toilets were constructed for border people who were ignored by previous Governments besides approval was granted to Chadwal to Sanji road by the local MP who also took keen interest in construction of community bunkers on border.
He said sanctioning of 40 Degree colleges out of which Kathua also got two colleges one at Mareen and another at Ramkote is also a great achievement and people of the Constituency compliment the local MP for the same.
He said Dr Jitendra Singh got sanctioned Rs 7000 crore for 300 roads under CRF.
Others present in the press conference were Dr Narinder Singh, Sheshi Sharma, Rekha Kumari and Indu Rekha.
