SRINAGAR, July 10: Hockey is the national game of our Country and today we need to promote the Hockey in a more good way.
It was started in Iran, 4000 years back and it was played in several countries and finally it got a special respect in the India and declared Hockey as National Game of the Country. Hockey has been very intimate relationship with Jammu and Kashmir State.
In a press statement issued here Hockey J&K joint secretary, Raja Ghulam Nabi Wani said that “We are doing our best efforts to promote the Hockey game in state as well as in country and especially the trend has seen among the school students of the Kashmir.
“In this regard we are going to organizing “Open Kashmir Hockey Championship” on July 16, 2018 which is sponsored by J&K Sports Council of the state”, he said.
It is pertinent to mention over here that the 16 special teams from all over the Kashmir will be participating in the said event and the 1st match is scheduled between the “Anantnag Vs J&K Police” team. This Championship will be held at Polo Ground and Gindum Stadium at Rajbagh in Srinagar.
