Online registration of Casual Labourers for regularization

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, June 30: For regularization of Casual Labourers and other workers in various departments, the Chief Secretary headed high-level committee in this regard has directed the Administrative Secretaries to ensure online registration of these workers by July 15, 2017 and submit the information to the Finance Department by July 31, 2017.
This direction was issued in the recently held meeting of the committee to look into magnitude and extent of problems relating to Casual Workers i.e. financial, legal and administrative that may arise in regularization of such workers.
The issue was deliberated in detail and it was felt that any headway in the matter shall be possible only, once the number of such persons is formed up. Therefore, Administrative Secretaries of various departments, who were present in the meeting, were given instructions to invariably ensure that the registration of these workers shall be done online within the closing date.
The issue pertaining to re-engagement of National Youth Corps (NYCs), engagement of Land donors and regularization of ITI trained Casual Labourers, were discussed by the committee in particular. It was decided that all the departments shall certify that all the eligible NYCs have been registered online besides ensuring that no eligible case is left out.
Further, all the concerned departments shall furnish information to the Finance Department positively by July 31, 2017 regarding the land donors who have donated land to the Government with effect from 01-01-2002 and have not been paid any compensation or employment.
The department shall furnish separate information in respect of ITI trained Casual Labourers to the Finance Department, in addition to uploading of information online in respect of these workers by July 15, 2017, under ‘Casual Labour’ category.
