JAMMU, Apr 16 : Maj. Gen. Shiv Kumar Sharma (Retd), Member of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and Chairman of the Governing Body of the College of Nursing, in presence of all the Governing Body members, launched the web portal of the College for starting online admission process for the next batch.
The online portal for filling up application forms for admission for the Second Batch of the 4 year B. Sc. Nursing Course at the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi College of Nursing (SMVDCN), Kakryal, is commencing from tomorrow and shall remain open for one month. The Entrance Examination will be conducted on 4th June at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University and classes for the Second Batch (2017-18) will start in mid July 2017.
This was stated at the 13th Governing Body Meeting of the College held to finalise the arrangements for admission of the second batch of students to the College. Maj. Gen. Shiv Kumar Sharma (Retd), Member, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and Chairman of the Governing Body of the Nursing College chaired the meeting.
The meeting was attended by Members of the Governing Body of the SMVDCN: Dr. M. K. Bhandari, Commissioner/ Secretary, Health and Medical Education; Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Chief Executive Officer of the Shrine Board; Dr. V. Verma, Dean, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University; Dr. (Brig.) Man Mohan Harjai, Administrator and Dr. Shailla Cannie, Principal of the Nursing College.
Chairman of the Governing Body said that the facility of online filling up of application forms has been provided with a view to enable the students to apply from any part of the country thus saving their time of travelling to the College or using the time consuming postal method. He informed that arrangements have also been made for giving immediate confirmation to the candidates through SMS and email of having filled up the application forms. The prospectus for 2017-18 batch of students has been issued and relevant information for the benefit of students has been hosted on the official website of the Nursing College i.e. www.smvdnursing.org.
Besides online applications, many other online modules are part of this web portal which include online attendance of students, online submission of assignments, automation of all processes of the College, registration of students, feedback and suggestions, e-resources, e-learning and video resources and other academic and administrative procedures, etc. All these facilities will help students transparency in the teaching-learning process.
