One way traffic restored on Batote-Doda-Kishtwar NH

DODA, Apr 8: Batote-Doda-Kishtwar National Highway (NH1B) got blocked again due to heavy landslides and boulders at Dansal area of district Doda today  morning but later in the evening the one way traffic was restored on it.
According to reports, hundreds of commuters and passengers were stranded on 110-km Batote-Doda-Kishtwar Highway which after its restoration yesterday got again closed today morning when heavy landslides hit the Dansal area near Assar, 25 Km from Doda.
According to stranded passengers, landslide took place at Dansal area early morning, leading to stranding of vehicles carrying essential commodities and passengers. After getting information, concerned authorities reached the spot with men and machinery and started work to restore the vehicular movement on the road which is the main connectivity to the twin districts.
“Batote-Doda-Kishtwar NH1B again got closed today morning at 5:00 am after heavy mudslide, landslides and boulders hit the Dansal area near Assar. The restoration work was started soon after getting information but continuous falling of shooting stones and mudslides hampered the restoration work, “said Deputy SP, NH1B, Aftab Bukhari.
“We tried our best to restore the highway at both places viz Dansal and Kulgardi but could restore it only for one way traffic till evening”, the Deputy SP added.
Meanwhile, the stretch between Kishtwar to Thathri was restored today at Kulgardi area of Drabshalla after remaining closed for five consecutive days.
