One pilgrim dies, 3 injured in accident

UDHAMPUR, Aug 25: A Machail Mata pilgrim was killed, while three others were injured, when the Alto car they were traveling in collided with a stranded oil tanker near Therd area on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, here.
As per police sources, an Alto car bearing registration number JK20-9449 hit a stranded oil tanker near Therd, resulting into injuries to four persons traveling in the car.
On getting information, a team from Udhampur Police Station rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to District Hospital Udhampur.
Two of the critically injured persons were referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu, where doctors declared one of the injured persons as brought dead, while the other injured person was responding to the treatment, when last reports came in.
The deceased has been identified as Shail Singh, son of Inder Singh, a resident of Gupta Colony District Reasi, while the injured have been identified as Anjana Devi, wife of Shail Singh, a resident of Gupta Colony, District Reasi, Pushpa Devi, wife of Subash Singh, a resident of Jhajjar Kotli Jammu and Sham Singh, son of Amar Singh, a resident of Suketar.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Udhampur Police Station and investigation started.
